Deer Park Go Green Eco-School
Deer Park Eco-School initiatives engage students in environmental learning and action at school.
Here are some of the things they are doing:

National Sweater Day
Students organized a sweater day so the building temperature could be turned down by 3 degrees to save energy.

New Compost Bins
New compost bins are being used in classrooms to ensure organic waste is composted.

Lights Out
Students applied "lights out" stickers to switch plates in every classroom to remind others to conserve energy.

Litterless Lunches
Deer Park students are encouraged to bring litter less lunches. Reusable containers reduce waste.

Bring Your Own Bowl
Bring your own bowl for Fun Friday Lunches. Using reusable bowls and plates helps to reduce waste.

School Garden
Growing food helps students appreciate where food comes from and the importance of soil and insects.
